Balcones Youth Sports

Balcones Youth Sports (BYS) is a long-standing North Austin youth baseball and softball league serving players ages 4–14. Located near The Domain, the league is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating a positive and inclusive experience for every player, regardless of skill level or financial ability.

For more than 60 years, BYS has provided a welcoming community where kids can learn the fundamentals of the game, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for baseball and softball.

The league offers multiple divisions designed to support player development at every stage, including T-Ball (5U and 6U), 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. Younger players participate in an age-appropriate T-Ball program focused on fun, fundamentals, and early skill development, while players in 8U through 14U take part in preseason skills assessments and a true draft-day team formation, ensuring balanced teams and a fair, competitive environment. Every registered player makes a team—there are no cuts and no politics, just a commitment to giving every child the chance to play.

The BYS season typically includes 10–14 games, weekly practices at the Balcones fields, and Saturday game days, culminating in an end-of-season tournament. Registration also includes team uniforms and a preseason player clinic to help athletes prepare for the season.

Balcones Youth Sports continues to grow each year while maintaining its community-driven mission: providing affordable, accessible baseball and softball programs that prioritize fun, development, and sportsmanship for Austin-area families.
